My wife is a Composition teacher and we were just talking about this tonight. Please contact me if you are still interested. We should be able to find some money for 10 kindles. I have both a Kindle and an iPhone with the Kindle software. I've spent a lot of time learning about the amazing Kindle device. I would love to pass this knowledge onto our children. Currently I am teaching reading groups as a teacher/researcher in a high poverty school. The children I work with are 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders who lack motivation, lack basic skills, and at this point, have not yet developed a sense of self-efficacy. I am interested in using Kindles to enhance student achievement. My research questions are: 1). What is the effect of the use of the Kindle on the students' motivation to read grade level text? 2). How does the use of the Kindle impact the students' reading levels? and 3). What effect does the use of the Kindle have on the students' sense of self-efficacy? I am hoping that you might consider awarding scholarships for 10 of my students. If this is possible, I would appreciate it a great deal.
